Pacifism only works when everyone plays by the rules. As soon as a stone is tossed, all hell will break loose. To assume that all cultures and all peoples will remain honest in the persuit of peace is the first nievety of the pacifist. Then one must also asume that there would be no debate of belief, human rights or equality, wealth, resources, or borders. Throw in the extremist islamo-facists around the globe and the reality is clear. We need to be on the defense 100% of the time, with a nuclear weapon, our enemy needs to succed only once.They have the will, do we?
