Fireworks On The Fourth

Fireworks photography rarely works out, considering my small point & shoot Canon SD400, I was satisfied with a few. Oh, and revisit my Panoramio map below, for new photos of Opal Creek.

Happy Birthday USA!

Panoramio Photos

I just signed up for a Panoramio account to share some of my photos around the Google Earth community. Once approved these photos then become results in Google Map searches, and on Google Earth as well. Below are some of the photos & places they were taken that I published. You may have seen these before in my prior posts. Now you can see exactly where they were taken.

Stonehenge

I stopped at sunrise to visit this replica of Stonehenge that sits as a WWII memorial along the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Sitting on the Washington Side it has a spectacular view both east and west of the Columbia River.

The Mud Photos Published

The photos Nathan and I took have been published on www.themud.com all 600+ of them! Usually once the public gets wind of them online the site gets pretty busy and at times will be off line. The club was kind enought to even give me a plug right on the home page for my efforts. Thanks!

Portland Sunrise

We had a very early morning trip to Portland today to bring the girls to a cheerleading competion. This is the first time I can remember I have been in Porland at sunrise. Since the school we were visiting was in the west hills, Nate and I pulled to a veiwpoint to watch this spectacular sunrise appear behind Mt. Hood. Unfortunately, my pocket digital takes great pictures in the light but not so much at dusk or dawn. I took dozens of shots and this is the best of them.

Frosty Silverton

There has been a cold snap this weekend dropping below freezing but we didn't get any snow. My drive to work was typical, until I arrived in Silverton and the roads turned white with frost, and all the trees were covered in white as well.

Summer's Over :-(

A downpour of rain & hail assaulted me on my drive this afternoon. Tempuratures are dropping, the sun is setting earlier, and my winter depression is setting in. On the up-side, we got our first snow in the mountains so it is time to wax the board! Posted by Picasa

Freak of Nature

While driving home from an errand we watched this dust devil whip through a field. This is less than a mile from our home, and was by far the biggest dust devil I have ever seen.

Cheers, Air, & Art

Emily and Stephanie were showing off thier cheerleading skills at the Albany Art & Air Festival today. They performed with their Ultimate Cheer All-Star team and I took some photos of the action. Although I am not the biggest cheerleading fan, some of you might enjoy them so I decided to share.

Emily is a "base" and catches the "flyers" who they toss in the air. Stephanie is also a base for the younger team. It may be hard to pick them out individually, but some of there teamates do some inpressive stunts with their help.

Posting Pictures

I just learned that my photos in my web albums can be embeded onto my blog, or on my MySpace pages. Frequently people ask me how to add photos to blog posts and although with Picasa Web Albums you still need to upload them to the service, doing so I found to be more simplistic with Picasa.

Just-A-Swinging

My kids are living near Mollala oregon, at neat place where they have a big barn converted to recreation room, a chicken coup converted to a playhouse, and a couple rope swings from an old oak tree. Pictured here Isaiah is enjoying a good push from Dad. Posted by Picasa
